Teeter inversion table X3 vs LX9
Teeter's FitSpine X3 and LX9 are close to the same table. Both list a FlexTech backrest on an 8-point floating suspension, the Deluxe EZ-Reach ankle lock with an extra-long handle, an EZ-Angle tether with markings at 20, 40 and 60 degrees, and Stretch Max and EZ-Stretch handles. Both have a 5-year full warranty included.
What the LX9 adds, according to Teeter's page:
- A raised boarding platform, which Teeter says makes stepping into the ankle lock easier.
- The LX ergonomic frame, with an arched design for entry and exit.
- A storage caddy for a water bottle, acupressure nodes or a phone.
The trade-offs are size and price. The LX9 is listed at 73.6 lb against 65.8 lb for the X3, about 32 in wide against 28.8 in, and folds to 22.1 x 32 x 67.4 in against 20 x 28.8 x 66 in. Teeter prices the LX9 higher. We show only a relative tier, because prices change; check the current price on Amazon.
Our read: the LX9 is for people for whom getting on and off the table is the difficult part. If you do not need that, the X3 gives you the same published limits and ankle system.
Which Teeter inversion table is the best?
There is no single best Teeter, because the four current tables share the same limits. Choose by what you need to change:
| EP-560 | FitSpine X1 | FitSpine X3 | FitSpine LX9 | |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Weight limit | 300 lb | 300 lb | 300 lb | 300 lb |
| Height range | 4 ft 8 in to 6 ft 6 in | same | same | same |
| Product weight | 59.0 lb | 60.3 lb | 65.8 lb | 73.6 lb |
| Backrest | ComforTrak | FlexTech, 8-point suspension | FlexTech, 8-point suspension | FlexTech, 8-point suspension |
| Ankle closure | T-pin | T-pin | EZ-Reach, extra-long handle, second gravity lock | EZ-Reach, extra-long handle, second gravity lock |
| Angle control | Tether | Tether | Tether with 20/40/60 markings | Tether with 20/40/60 markings |
| Stretch Max and EZ-Stretch handles | not listed | not listed | yes | yes |
| Boarding platform and arched frame | no | no | no | yes |
| Warranty | 5-year full | 5-year full | 5-year full | 5-year full |
Figures are from each product page on teeter.com. The 20, 40 and 60 degree markings are described on the X3 and LX9 pages; the EP-560 and X1 pages describe a tether but not those markings.
- Lowest Teeter price tier: the EP-560, if you can reach your ankles comfortably.
- FlexTech backrest at a lower tier: the X1.
- Easier ankle step and handles: the X3.
- Easiest boarding: the LX9.
What none of them change
All four stop at 300 lb and 6 ft 6 in. If you are outside either limit, no Teeter in this range is right; see how to choose an inversion table and Teeter vs Innova.
What about the older EP-970 and other model names?
Teeter's own customer Q&A on the X3 page describes the EP-970 LTD as having the same EZ-Reach ankle lock as the X3 but a different bed, and says the FitSpine XC5 is sold only through Relax the Back stores, not on Teeter.com. We do not cover those models. Model names get reused and retired, so check that the name a seller gives matches a current page on teeter.com before you buy.
Safety
Inversion tables are not for everyone, and Teeter's own manuals say not to use one without a licensed physician's approval. Read who should not use an inversion table.
