Angle control: tether or pin

Teeter's tables use an angle tether, a strap you set before you lie back. On the X3 it is marked at 20, 40 and 60 degrees. Innova uses an adjustable pin you position in the desired angle, and describes its protective cover as making positioning easy. Innova's page also says old tether systems make you get off and climb underneath to adjust. In practice, either way you set the limit before you invert and change it by getting off the table. Our angle guide covers starting points.

Ankle systems

This is the step that holds you on the table, so it is the one to check. Teeter's X3 and LX9 have an extra-long handle that Teeter says reduces the need to bend forward, plus a second gravity-activated lock. The EP-560 and X1 use a T-pin closure. Innova's ITX9600 has reversible ankle holders, the ITX9800 adds a patented strap system that Innova says adds comfort and works as a safety feature, and the ITX1200 has an extended-handle ankle system. We have not tested any of them. Test whichever you buy by hand, every time, as the manuals say.

Warranty

Teeter lists a 5-year full warranty, included. Innova lists a one-year limited warranty, with limitations or exclusions explained in the owner's manual. If you plan to keep a table for years, this is the biggest published difference.

Weight and height

The overlap is large. Teeter and Innova both stop at 6 ft 6 in, and for tall users that means neither brand is a fit above that. For weight, 300 lb is the common limit; the Innova ITX1200 is the one table we verified at 350 lb.

Which should you pick?

Safety

Inversion tables are not for everyone. Both makers' materials say not to use one without a licensed physician's approval. Read who should not use an inversion table.
