What the makers list

Every Teeter figure below is from the specification section of its product page. For Innova we found no dimensions on the ITX9600, ITX9800 or ITX1200 pages, so those cells say "not listed". We do not borrow retailer numbers.

Table In use (L x W x H) Storage (L x W x H) Weight
Teeter EP-560 84 x 28.8 x 86 in 20 x 28.8 x 66 in 59.0 lb
Teeter FitSpine X1 81 x 28.8 x 86.5 in 20 x 28.8 x 66 in 60.3 lb
Teeter FitSpine X3 81 x 28.8 x 86.5 in 20 x 28.8 x 66 in 65.8 lb
Teeter FitSpine LX9 81.7 x 32 x 86.5 in 22.1 x 32 x 67.4 in 73.6 lb

Teeter also lists a "non-use max" size for each table. For the X3 and X1 it is 58 x 28.8 x 60.5 in. That is a different figure from the storage size, so use the storage line when you plan a closet.

Ceiling height and the room around the table

Teeter's own answer on its FitSpine X1 page covers ceilings. A customer with a 7 ft ceiling asked if the table would fit. Teeter replied that at its maximum in-use setting of 6 ft 6 in you need 7 ft 3 in of clearance. That is Teeter's answer for the X1. Teeter lists the same 86.5 in in-use height for the X3 and LX9 and 86 in for the EP-560, but we did not find the same statement on those pages.

Innova does not publish a ceiling figure on the pages we checked. Neither maker says how much clear floor to leave beside the table. We would not guess.

The in-use length is the frame at full extension. The makers do not give a separate measurement for the table rotating, so measure it yourself:

  1. Set the table up where you plan to use it, or mark its in-use length and width on the floor with tape.
  2. Check the ceiling above the whole footprint, not just one spot. Lights, fans and sloped ceilings reduce the clearance.
  3. Clear a path to the table and leave room to step on and off. Teeter's tether and angle marks are part of its setup, so see how to assemble and adjust an inversion table.
  4. Start from the in-use height, add your own margin, and check against your manual.

Small spaces and storage

Among the tables with published sizes, the EP-560, X1 and X3 share the smallest storage footprint, 20 x 28.8 x 66 in. The LX9 is wider and deeper when stored. The EP-560 is the lightest at 59 lb, and the weight matters if you will move it often.

Teeter customer service answered one shopper whose storage space was only 18 in wide. Teeter did not think removing the handles would get there. It suggested taking the table bed off the A-frame and leaning it against the frame in storage.

Innova's storage page says to remove the safety pin, pull up on the handlebars to fold the base frame, and put the pin back. It says to leave the base frame wide enough to stay stable or to secure it to a wall so it cannot tip. It also says not to let anyone use the table in storage mode.

Common questions

What is the best inversion table for small spaces?

Going by what the makers publish, the three smaller Teeters, the EP-560, X1 and X3, have the smallest listed storage size. We cannot rank the Innova tables on space because Innova lists no dimensions.

What is the best inversion table for storage?

Teeter is the only maker here that lists a storage size for every model. See best folding inversion tables for the same data in one list.

Is there an inversion table that folds flat?

We found no maker page for a table that folds flat. Teeter's tables fold to a tall, narrow shape, 66 in high for most models. The Innova tables fold, per Innova's storage page.

Can I use an inversion table with an 8 ft ceiling?

Teeter's listed in-use height is 86 to 86.5 in, which is under 8 ft (96 in). Teeter says a user set at 6 ft 6 in needs 7 ft 3 in. Check your manual for your own height setting.
